# How to Get New AI Tools by Email Each Week

*Updated November 1, 2026*

To get new AI tools by email, read a daily briefing such as TLDR AI or Superhuman, take Future Tools on Wednesday and Friday, check Show HN and GitHub yourself, set a Google Alert on a phrase, or send one sentence to MailMeWhen, with no account and no app.

A coding tool shows up, and you hear about it from a screenshot weeks later. The big AI letters are written for everyone, so they lead with model launches and funding news. The tool you would actually install is one short paragraph, or it is missing. If you want a short list of tools for writing code, none of those letters is watching that list for you.

## Ways to get new AI tools by email

1. A daily briefing: TLDR AI is a free letter every weekday. It takes about five minutes. Each issue covers AI news, research, and tools, with a few sentences and a link to the source. Superhuman is free to read. It is a letter of about three minutes a day, with news, tools, and how to use them at work. Both are written for a wide audience. A tool you care about may never be the story.
2. Future Tools, twice a week: Matt Wolfe sends a free letter every Wednesday and Friday. He says an issue takes about five minutes, and that sponsors pay for it. He also says he tries tools and only includes the ones he found useful. It is still one letter for everyone, with model launches, news, and tools together. It does not watch a category you named.
3. Show HN and GitHub, checked by you: Hacker News has a public Show HN list. GitHub has public repositories tagged ai-coding. You can read both with no account. Nothing there sends you an email. Skip a few days and those posts leave the front page.
4. A Google Alert on a phrase: You give Google a phrase such as 'new AI tool'. It emails you when it indexes a matching page. That match includes launch posts, roundups, and ads. It only sees pages Google has already indexed. It does not pick a tool, and it does not read the author's page for you.

## A weekly list of AI tools in one sentence

Name the kind of tool the way you would say it to a friend: every Saturday morning, email me new AI tools for writing and debugging code, and skip chatbots and image apps. A real person reads it and sets it up. No account, and no app.

The letter is in Chinese, and it goes out once a week. The usual time is Saturday morning, China time. Name another day of the week if you want a different one. Each letter lists a few tools for writing and debugging code, such as coding tools, agents, MCP, and debugging. It is not a news briefing of model launches. It is not a tour of chatbots and image apps.

Each item says what the tool does, one situation where you might try it, the platforms, the price, how you get it, and a link to the author's page or the repository. If the page does not state the price or the platforms, the letter says it does not know. We aim for three to five items. When fewer are worth sending, the letter is shorter, and we do not pad it. When nothing passes, no letter goes out that week.

Tools you already named stay out, and so do tools we already sent you. We read the author's site or the repository README. We have not installed the tool. A speed or quality number on that page stays the author's sentence. The pool is recent Show HN posts and GitHub repositories tagged ai-coding, so a tool that never appears there will not be in the letter. Reply if you want a narrower focus, only free tools, or only one platform.

The first 30 days are free, and we do not ask for payment details. After that, this one letter is $5 a month. It stops by itself if you do not subscribe. Reply once to stop.

## Good to know about AI tool emails

The other letters answer a different question. They tell a general reader what happened in AI. Your letter is a short list of tools for writing code, in Chinese, once a week. A daily briefing will mention more launches. It will not stay on the kind of tool you named.

Open source does not mean the tool is free to use. If it calls a model, the page often never says what that costs. We do not guess. The letter says the price was not stated.

We do not try to cover every tool that launched that week. Show HN and one GitHub topic miss plenty of tools. If your sentence asked for image apps, or for a news roundup, the first letter says what we actually set up.

## Try it — hand us this sentence:

> Every Saturday morning, China time, email me new AI tools for writing and debugging code. Skip chatbots and image apps. For each one, tell me what it does, the price if the author published it, and the link.

## Common questions

**Is there a free newsletter of new AI tools?**

Yes. TLDR AI is free every weekday and covers news, research, and tools. Superhuman is free to read, a short daily letter of news and tools. Future Tools is free every Wednesday and Friday, and the page says sponsors pay for it. All three are written for a general reader. None of them watches only the coding tools you named.

**What does the MailMeWhen letter contain?**

A few AI tools for writing and debugging code, in Chinese, once a week. Each item has what it does, a situation to try, platforms, price, how to get it, and a link. We copy the price from the author's page. If the page does not state it, we say so. We have not installed the tool. The first 30 days are free with no payment details, then $5 a month.

**Will I hear about every new AI tool?**

No. A daily briefing picks what was news. A Google Alert only sees pages Google has indexed. We only look at recent Show HN posts and GitHub repositories tagged ai-coding, and we only write about tools for writing and debugging code. Some weeks the letter does not go out.
