How to Get a Cruise Price Drop Alert by Email
To get an email when a cruise fare drops, you can turn on Royal Caribbean's watchlist, ask the line to match a lower fare on its own site, read a last-minute deals list such as Vacations To Go, or send one sentence to MailMeWhen, with no account and no app.
You booked a balcony cabin for next spring. A month later the same cabin, on the same ship and the same dates, is $400 cheaper. The cruise line does not write to tell you. On Royal Caribbean you can ask them to match that fare, if you notice in time and if your booking is one they will match.
Ways to hear when a cruise fare drops
A cruise price drop alert in one sentence
Write it the way you'd tell a friend: 'email me if the balcony cabin I booked for two adults, on the 7-night cruise leaving March 14, 2027, drops below $1,200 a person before taxes, so I can ask the line to match it.' Name the line, the ship, the dates, how many people, and the cabin type. Say the most you want to pay, and whether that number is per person or for the whole cabin. Say the final payment date if you know it. A real person reads it and sets it up. No account, no app, and nothing for you to maintain afterwards.
We look at the public fare page you would look at yourself, for that sailing and that cabin type. Nothing arrives while the fare holds. When it goes under your line, a short letter says the new price, whether it is per person, what it includes, where we saw it, and a link so you can check. If it drops again later, you hear again.
There are things we don't do. We don't book, cancel, or ask the cruise line to change your price. That stays with you. We can't see fares that need a login, such as a resident rate or a member rate. Some cruise sites block visitors like us. If we can't read the page, the first letter says so, and you pay nothing. A lower fare on the page may be one your existing booking is not allowed to take. The letter says what we saw. It does not promise the line will match it. The first 7 days are free with no payment details. After that it is $5/month for that one alert, and it stops by itself if you don't subscribe. Reply once to stop.
What to check before you chase a lower cruise fare
Compare the same thing. Cruise fares are usually shown per person, for two people in the cabin. A lower number can be a different cabin type, a different package, or a fare with the taxes and port fees left off. Look at the total for your party, for the same ship, the same dates, and the same room type.
The date that matters is final payment, not the day you sail. For Royal Caribbean bookings made in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico, final payment is due 75 days before a cruise of 1 to 4 nights, 90 days before one of 5 to 14 nights, and 120 days before one of 15 nights or longer. Bookings from other countries use that country's own rules. Some Alaska, Hawaii, Transpacific, Panama Canal, and Pacific Coastal bookings made on or after September 29, 2026 use a different schedule. It is on the same Royal Caribbean page. After the final payment date, a drop you find may be too late. Put that date in your calendar.
Ask the line to change the booking you already have. Don't cancel it and hope the lower fare is still there. You could lose the cabin. Royal Caribbean's guarantee is a match on the booking you have, and it does not cover every booking. If they say no, the fare you booked is still yours.
Try it — hand us this sentence:
I booked a balcony cabin for two adults on a 7-night cruise leaving March 14, 2027. Email me if the same cabin on the cruise line's site drops below $1,200 a person, before taxes, so I can ask them to match it.
Common questions
What should I do if my cruise fare drops after I book?
Check that it is the same ship, the same dates, and the same room type, on the cruise line's own site. If you booked with Royal Caribbean, ask them to match it, or ask the travel agent who booked it. You can ask any time before final payment, or within 24 hours of booking. They refund the difference if you have already paid and the same room type is cheaper. The guarantee is not offered in every country or on every booking. Don't cancel the cabin while you wait.
Will the cruise line email me when the price drops?
Royal Caribbean's watchlist sends updates about sailing dates you saved, if you turned on email notifications. Their help page does not say those updates are price drops. Their Best Price Guarantee does not run unless you ask. Vacations To Go mails last-minute deals if you opted into the newsletter. It does not mail you about one cabin you already booked. To watch that cabin, check the page yourself, or ask MailMeWhen. The first 7 days are free with no payment details, then $5/month for that one alert.
Can I still get a match after the final payment date?
On Royal Caribbean, you can ask any time before final payment, or within 24 hours of booking. Once final payment has passed, a later drop is outside that window, unless you are still inside those 24 hours. Other lines write their own rules. Read the rules on the fare you booked before you count on a refund.
